Qualification offensive 2011: Scrum and TDD (Test Driven Development) Workshop

Once again this year, developers at consistec have been able to deepen their knowledge of agile software development with Scrum and learn more about the concept of test-driven software development. A five-day practical workshop focused on subjects such as Scrum, Continuous Integration, Refactoring, and Test-Driven Development as part of the training plan.

Scrum is one of the best-known agile methods, and the method of choice for successfully performing dynamic software development projects. Classical development methods, where all details are established as binding at the start, quickly reach their limits in dynamic projects. The result: project managers often try to adapt reality to their planning, which is no small task.

In contrast, agile development methods focus on a continuous comparison of development with customer requirements. During "Inspect and Adapt", checks are performed at regular, brief intervals to determine if there is potential for optimization in the process, prioritization, or design of features (Inspect), and if necessary the procedure is modified (Adapt).

Both the intensive integration of automated tests and consistently high internal code quality are the prerequisite and guarantee for flexible adaptation of code to changing requirements.

consistec has been developing according to the Scrum agile method for some time now, and relies on comprehensive test coverage as part of its test-centered development processes.
The next Scrum training with a TDD camp will be taking place in October.
