caplon was developed as a network protocol analyzer specifically for effective troubleshooting in gigabit networks.
The combination of network analysis tool and high-performance tracer decodes and analyzes all data traffic – even at high data rates.
caplon enables comprehensive protocol decoding at all layers. And that is up to a bandwidth of 10 GB/s full duplex as well as a guaranteed network to disk performance of up to 6 GB/s. The caplon6000 MC 10 even enables simultaneous, independent utilization by up to 10 users.
Operated on a specially adapted 64-bit Linux system, depending on the expansion level caplon can capture loss-free data up to the terabyte range.
The server architecture ensures that not a single data packet is ever lost, even with the network at full capacity and in multi-user operation.
The graphical user interface with the Wireshark client offered as standard is practical and intuitive. A caplon client individually adapted to customer requirements as an alternative to Wireshark is available upon request.

Wireshark Subscription Service
After capturing the data traffic of a network interface, the Wireshark tool presents the data in the form of individual packets. This enables the data to be clearly analyzed in a manner that is reproducible for the user. The captured packets can thus be viewed or filtered by content.
Wireshark is a further development of the Ethereal Open-Source Project, and is the most commonly used software for protocol analysis. This guarantees an extremely short learning curve.
